Ryan Adams, Live on Letterman
Ryan Adams performed at the Ed Sullivan Theater last night for a live webcast of a full 70-minute set, complete with banter and solo acoustic takes on tunes spanning his days in Whiskeytown to the new record. In fact, he even brought out a post-Ashes & Fire cover tune that’s been added to recent setlists following last month’s Bob Mould tribute: “Black Sheets of Rain” (around the 49:00 mark). Now the broadcast, which was incredible and a can’t-miss for any Adams fan, is available to watch in its entirety above.
A must-watch for sure. Was lucky to attend this last night — thought it was going to be a few songs but was much, much more. Ryan is on POINT these days.

For today’s GPOYW, please enjoy an unbeknownst (at the time) embarrassment of mine from yesterday.
At the last minute, I hopped down to the Cardinals’ secret coffee shop gig yesterday afternoon and somehow found myself in the very, very front (like kinda awkward cause I was RIGHT up in their faces), and a second-hand star in their WEBCAST that like ALL OF THE OTHER HARDCORE FANS WATCHED ON THE INTERNET.
Anyway, I just saw it for myself because you can still stream the show from the site, and so here’s a screenshot. I guess from now on you can call me “Purse Girl” as all of the people in the chat window to the right lovingly called me that as they talked crap about me throughout the show. Jealz Haterz?
Anyway, Laura, Kyle and Matt took some great photos (yet somehow remained outside of the webcam area?!) I tried to take a couple, but like I said… I was trying to be polite because I was so. close.
It was pretty darn amazing though, and can’t wait for Friday. (And they’re on Letterman tonight). The new record, Cardinology is really stellar and I can’t stop listening to it.
