GPOYW - Cat exploitation edition.
Inspired by Nick’s great topless editor pic, we’re having everyone take a webcam style photo for our urlbots photos on Urlesque (especially since we are inside the internet anyways). Naturally I want my cats to be in my pic and trying to get a photo with them is, well, like wrangling cats (previously). This was the last shot of our series of photos — the one where you can really see the hatred in Lyla’s eyes (left) and the absolute sadness in Buster’s face (right).
They fought so hard to get away from me, yet they keep hanging around me now like they’re ready for more. Fameballs.
I have somehow ended up on my own vimeo page and am watching all the videos of Buster and Lyla when they were kittens. I’m not at all surprised that I took so many videos, but I can’t remember uploading all of these at all.
BUT it’s great fun to watch back and see them when they were fun, spritely wee kittens. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still pretty active, sweet and adorable, but there’s just something about a kitten hop. I also wish they still snuggled with one another as much as they did back then.
I couldn’t pick a favorite, but the one above was the first that I actually “edited.” See all the others.
Also of note, I had a trip down memory lane clicking through their old blog (which I re-started over on Tumblr, if you’re interested in following sporadic photos of my cats), and realized how awesome their blog was before I had a job blog. I guess B&L was a good precursor for Urlesque because I did things like a video collection of people making their cats ‘crank that’ like Soulja Boy. Oh well, at least I could devote the time to their blog when it mattered most — kittenhood.
BWE’s Animals Who Hate Baths list reminded me of this tragic picture of Lyla from the first and only time I gave her and Buster a bath. Buster bit me.
Updated GPOYW (and the closest I’ll come to following today’s theme) lyla ain’t food on my face but she’s good snuggles to an under-the-weather mom.
