Last night, Hanson performed ‘Mmmbop’ on DWTS. I only watched the performance video (below) which claims it was “guilty pleasure” night but why are they performing this song? I’m sure this huge show is a great opportunity to prove they’re still at it and have had like, oh, 5 albums or so since this song. I don’t get it. And judging by Taylor’s face above, he agrees with me. AWKWARDness below.

Back when I was a wee teen, I was pretty into Taylor Hanson. Like, “convinced we’d one day get married” into him. Or “felt stabbed in the back because he got married in my home state even though he’s from Oklahoma” into him. Or how about “studied music business in college as a path to him” into him.
You may ask yourself why he looks so scared in this photo. I like to believe that it’s because he realizes he missed out on his destiny with me for his wife and FOUR kids. Maybe had I known, I would’ve worn something a little cuter.
Ok, I’m kidding (kind of) but this is still pretty exciting. I guess my plan did work in some way. Aren’t they taller than expected?
But…. the lean, people. THE LEAN.

NO! I totally forgot about Hanson’s 5 night stint in NYC where they’re playing all their albums. Tonight was Middle of Nowhere, tomorrow is This Time Around, etc.
Tonight and tomorrow are the REAL nights when I’d want to go. I’ll just pretend I have no connections that could get me into the show tomorrow night because I have dinner plans with some friends from out of town (DARNIT. Don’t even make me tell my story of how Hanson relates to my life story.)
They are streaming the shows, so there’s that. From my experience though, It’ll probably be tough to hear over all the screeching. No, not screaming. SCREECHING.

Lee asked me to include 98 Degrees’ This Christmas in my orgy of holiday cheer.
