i’ve been pretty quiet about this whole thing, but damnit, the redirect stings.
What a difference a year makes! Last year at Internet Week.

TODAY URLESQUE ENDS ITS THREE YEAR RUN.
GO OVER AND SAY SEEYA AND MAYBE THANK THESE DUDES/CHICKS . THESE EDITORS ,WRITERS ARE FUCKING GOOD PEOPLE AND HAVE BROUGHT YOU ALL A LOT OF WHAT YOU POST ABOUT. THEYRE MOVING SOMEWHERE, WAS THE AOL BUYOUT SHIT, BUT GO AND PEEP THIS VIDEO. THANKS FOR KEEPIN IT REAL WITH THE SCUMBAGSTEVE ARTICLES.I REALLY APPRECIATED IT. BLAKE
At least we made it through those terrible twos.
What fun stuff should we do there before we disappear?
I’m fucking pissed off about this. Is there really so much overhead at Urlesque that it has to be shut down? Is there going to be something as Memeable to take it’s place? I love(d) Urlesque and REALLY resent that AOL seems to be just flushing it down the toilet. I wish this wasn’t true.
… Here is my post with some of my fav meme’s over the years. Thanks for the good times!

(No- thank YOU!)
This was my face when Overlook Press decided they wanted to make me an author.
I got a book deal, guys! It’s going to be about 4chan, the mysterious, misunderstood image board defined by anonymity and anarchy that influences the way you behave on the web, whether you realize it or not. Working title: Epic Win. I can’t wait to show you…. (MORE)
Congrats, Cole!!!! Is it okay if I feel like a proud mom? No? Maybe more like a stepmom? Creepy neighbor? Ok fine. Though, admittedly I was the mom that was always weirded out and scared of those posts but then eventually gave in because they were always so well done and well researched. Wholly deserved and can’t wait to read the book with one hand over my face.
After 5 and a half years, 1,053 days of Urlesque, 2 videos with giant things, several awesomely ridiculous cat-related features (aka my life’s work), countless LOLs and meme-ories, I am leaving AOL and Urlesque.
Come Monday, I’m joining the marketing team at Outbrain, a NYC-based startup recently recognized by The Media Kitchen as a content distribution platform to watch in 2011. I’m thrilled for this exciting new step in my career and looking forward to the new challenges it will bring.
As we’ve always said, once an Urlbot, forever an Urlbot, and a piece of my heart will always belong to the team at Urlesque. I’m forever thankful for the opportunities and experience our unique site allowed me — the best of both worlds of working with a small but passionate team in the midst of a big, big company. Never fear — the site lives on! The awesome editors and writers will keep bringing you the very best the web has to offer (follow on Tumblr & go to the site… you know me, always with the plugs).
I also wanted to say a big thank you to all Urlbots past and present for making Urlesque the wonderful site and community that it is today — none of it was possible without you. And to all my friends, colleagues, readers, and peers, thank you for all the support over the (almost 3!) years of the site’s life and I know you’ll join me in watching the team continue to kill it and cheering ‘em on from the sidelines.
Naturally, I thought really long and hard about what video I wanted to include in this post, and really, nothing in my mind is more perfect than ending my tenure with this one:
Keyboard Cat Reincarnated? Bento Tells All in New Interview (Cat Chat Video)
My (Buster) latest interview on Urlesque with Bento aka the Reincarnated Keyboard Cat. How I was able to grab the time of this insanely busy heavy web hitter, I dunno, but boy, what an exciting moment for my career.
