a quick rundown of all the bands i remember seeing/hearing in some fashion: the kills, deer tick, grand ole party, team robespierre, parts & labor, british sea power, dead confederate, the airborne toxic event, autolux, no age, aa bondy, flyleaf, the dodos, the hood internet, cadence weapon, f*** buttons, the raveonettes, jay reatard, the death set, the mae shi, eagle seagull, she & him, allison, phantom planet, drop dead gorgeous, paramore, film school, lykke li, peelander-z, islands, georgie james, roky erickson, ohmega watts, nino moschella, some insane japanese band, knyfe hyts…

sxsw is all about boozin’ and eatin’ awesome food and it’s kinda depressing when you have a perpetual tummy ache : ( after writing that all out i realized that my slight under-the-weather condition really took a bite out of some quality band-watching time. but the good news is that i was into a majority of the acts that i saw and heard some great recommendations from pals. still such a privilege to go. and as always, it was such a blast to meet and throw down with some internet friends [it’s so hard to catch one another]! and although i didn’t get to see a lot of the bands i wanted to, my motto for my laziness all week was ‘every band comes to nyc’… so here’s hoping!

i did accomplish my goal of using my badge. i never made it to a panel though. maybe next year…
